Description: Book designed and commissioned by Mr. Pablo Escobar Gaviria, with the compilation of a large number of cartoons related to his life, published in newspapers and magazines from 1983 to 1991.It includes works by Colombian and international cartoonists, whose comics he himself carefully selected to use them, but forcefully refusing to request the respective legal permissions both from the journalistic media that disclosed them, and from their authors. His intention was to collect many of the cartoons about his life and its meaning (most containing a lot of black humor and cynicism) Perhaps, those drawings also excited his ego and his dreams of going down in history like no one else had done before. This book was published during the period in which Pablo Escobar was imprisoned in "La Catedral";. He himself managed to distribute some copies among his family, friends and collaborators. After his escape, the “authorities” stole the rest of the books that remained in jail. Sometime later, with the formation of the group “Los Pepes” (abbreviation of “Persecuted by Pablo Escobar”), his enemies were vicious against anyone who had been close to him in the past, including all those whom they found in possession of this book. For this reason, many copies were destroyed.  

The few remaining copies of this book “PABLO ESCOBAR EN CARICATURAS 1983-1991”, followed by copies of his other collaborative book “FÁBULAS PARA MANUELA” (co-written by him and dedicated to his daughter), lead astronomical sales figures in the most recognized auction houses of objects for collectors in the world.

Descripción: Libro ideado y encargado por el Señor Pablo Escobar Gaviria, con la compilación de una gran cantidad de caricaturas relacionadas con su vida, publicadas en periódicos y revistas desde el año 1983 hasta 1991.Incluye obras de caricaturistas colombianos e internacionales, cuyas viñetas él mismo seleccionó con cuidado para utilizarlas, pero negándose contundentemente a solicitar los respectivos permisos legales tanto de los medios periodísticos que las divulgaron, como de sus autores. Su intención fue compilar muchas de las caricaturas sobre su vida y su significación (la mayoría conteniendo humor negro y cinismo) Tal vez, esos dibujos entusiasmaban su ego y sus sueños de pasar a la historia como nadie lo había hecho antes. Este libro fue editado en el periodo durante el cual se encontraba preso en la cárcel de “La Catedral”. Él mismo alcanzó a repartir algunos ejemplares entre sus familiares, amigos y colaboradores. Tras su fuga, el resto de los libros que quedaron en la cárcel, fueron sustraídos por las “autoridades”. Posteriormente, con la conformación del grupo “Los Pepes” (abreviatura de “Perseguidos por Pablo Escobar”), sus enemigos se ensañaron contra toda persona que en el pasado hubiera tenido cercanía con él, incluidos todos a quienes les fuera encontrado este libro. Por este motivo, muchos ejemplares fueron desechados o destruidos.

Los escasos ejemplares que aún se conservan de “PABLO ESCOBAR EN CARICATURAS 1983-1991”, seguidos por ejemplares de su otro libro colaborativo “FÁBULAS PARA MANUELA” (coescrito por él y dedicado a su hija), lideran cifras astronómicas de ventas en las más reconocidas casas de subastas de objetos para coleccionistas en el mundo.
