M&GN in Colour Volume Four

Edited by Dennis Greeno

M&GN in Colour is a series of four booklets using, for the first time ever, only colour photographs of the Midland and Great Northern Joint Railway system in all its guises, including the Norfolk and Suffolk Joint between Cromer and North Walsham as well as Great Yarmouth to Lowestoft line. The photographs range from before the Second World War up to the early 1980s and show how the railway looked together with descriptions of features and equipment that made it one of the most unique in Britain. Volume 3 takes a broad look at the M&GN - as well as local and long distance passenger services there is a particular focus on locomotives at Melton Constable motive power depot. This final volume returns to Cross Keys bridge and the line west of there, then examines South Lynn station and its services. This is followed by a broad sweep over the eastern half of the system in its final days.

Proceeds of this sale go toward the preservation and overhaul of the M&GN Society’s locomotive WD 2-10-0 90577.
