The book consists of dozens of imaginary beasts and birds, each with a cheerful duotone illustration by Hereford and a poem by Wells. Each chapter heading page also has Herford art. 20 full page illustrations. The boards do have heavy edge wear and rubbing. Yet, the book remains tight and clean inside. Neat book!
