This is a fabulous old Decorative Drum from the Iatmul Tribe of Papua New Guinea. The tall, hourglass-shaped body of the single-headed drum is carved in brown, hard wood and decorate with elaborate and fine abstract-geometric reliefs from the top to the sides.  An elegant arched handle is on the side  decorative section on it and all made from a single piece of wood.
