Dinotopia, The World Beneath, written and illustrated by James Gurney, is a 160 page, 10 3/4 X 10 inch hardcover book published by Turner Publishing, Inc., Atlanta. The copyright date is 1995, and this is a first edition; the copyright page states "First Edition" and the printing number line starts with "1."

The book is in near fine condition in a near fine unclipped ($29.95) dustjacket, with dark blue boards, gilt spine titles, and illustrated endpapers.

Synopsis - This beautiful book (the second in what became an extended series) continues the adventures in the 19th-century lost world of Dinotopia, in which humans coexist with intelligent dinosaurs. In this story, biologist Arthur Denison and his expedition explore the inner regions of the island, and fight to keep Dinotopia's existence a secret. Profusely illustrated throughout with 160 vivid, detailed paintings and drawings of the fantasy world of Dinotopia.

Condition Details - The book has a square spine, a tight binding, and no marks, tears or writing. The cover has sharp corners and just a hint of shelfwear to the bottom of the spine, no soil or stains. The textblock edges are clean. The glossy dustjacket (in new, protective Brodart) has very light rubwear and very light edgewear, no chips or tears. No unpleasant odors.
