National Velvet, by Enid Bagnold, *facsimile copy* of the original 1935 first american edition of the novel- believed to be a 1997 edition/printing, possibly a book club edition as there is no price or ISBN to be found in the book or on the jacket. Red paper boards with partial black cloth binding, red and black dust jacket, 305 pages. Originally published by William Morrow and Company, NY. This book was the basis for the 1944 film starring Elizabeth Taylor and Mickey Rooney.

I consider this book to be in overall good pre-owned/vintage condition, with the following noted flaws:

The dust jacket shows wear, particularly along the edges and corners, including small tears, creasing and deterioration; light surface scratches and a small smudge at the rear left side of the jacket. There is some foxing to the top edge of the text block. The dust jacket is slightly shifted from its original position on the book.

Otherwise, the pages appear to be crisp and undamaged and the binding tight and square. The dust jacket has been fitted with a fresh clear mylar protector, which is not permanently affixed and can be easily removed if desired.

Please take a moment to view the photographs provided for additional representation of condition, as well as specific and unique book characteristics.
