This is a stunning example of 1960's
mid-century modern design, a cased-glass vanity jar by Carlos Moretti
for the well known glass studio Empoli of Italy. The cased-glass
jar has an opalescent effect and was hand crafted by a talented & experienced Italian glass artist.
It's been expertly crafted with layered cased glass of white and
an Art Deco-inspired green. The green glass ball finial handle dazzles
with tiny
controlled bubbles known as 'bullicante' in Italy. Could
prove to be a very collectable antique of the future.
The
Carlo Moretti company was founded by Carlo and Giovanni Moretti on the
island of Murano in 1958. It is a leading designer and manufacturer of
contemporary glassware and has pieces displayed in twenty-three museums
around the world.
In very good condition for a piece of this age (no chips or cracks)
