Thank you for looking at my auction. All of my auctions are No Reserve and start at .99 and all of my diecast vehicles or any other of my items come from a smoke free environment. For the purposes of all my diecast listings, "left" refers to the driver's side and "right" the passenger side as if you were sitting behind the steering wheel. You are bidding on my olive Hot Wheels Vintage Racing '70 Mercury Cyclone Darrell Waltrip edition with Real Riders Tires stamped Good Year. Please pay close attention to the pictures as they are a significant part of the listing.
Paint: This is an oddity. The paint on the roof, hood, right side and trunk are in very good condition with only some small nicks and scratches. The paint on the left side is in very poor condition with a scrape on the door and three discolored spots appearing white. Two are just in front of and to the rear of the top of the rear quarter panel wheel well opening. The other one is just in front of the Union 76 decal and bleeds into the decal making it unreadable. I have also taken pictures with a flash to accentuate the paint.
Decals: The number "95" decals on the roof and right side are 100% intact and in very good condition. There is one bubble in the roof decal. The number "95" decal on the left side is marred from a scrape in the metal. The "Darrell" signature on top of doors where we might hang our arm out driving is 100% intact and readable. The "429 C. I'" decals are 100% intact and readable. The three hood pin decals and the two trunk lid pin decals are 100% intact and clearly seen. Please see the pictures.
Sponsorship Decals: Part of the "Terminal Transport" name is missing on the left side. The right side "Terminal Transport" name is 100% intact and readable. The small product sponsorship decals are 100% intact and readable on both sides except for the "Union 76" decal on the left side due to damage.
Plastic: Both the windshield and rear window are in very good condition with only some minor scratches. Also, the plastic simulated roll bar on the passenger side at the top has a piece of residual plastic that is visible. Please see the pictures.
Hood: The hood on this '70 Mercury Cyclone does not open.
Wheels: The color matched to the body color wheels are in excellent condition. Please see the pictures.
Tires surfaces: Extremely good condition including the sidewalls with only some small white appearing dots on the tire surfaces. All the white letters including the "Good Year" name and the symbol between them are in excellent condition with the exception of the left year. It appears the machine that applies the white letters must have been misaligned and cutoff the top portion of the name "Good." Please see the pictures.
Suspension: There is no upward travel when pushing up on all four tires and therefore no resistance is felt.
Axles: All four axles are bent. Also, the axles toggle up and down like a seesaw and when the Cyclone is tilted to each respective side the axles shift away from the body of the car. Please see the pictures.
Base: The metal Thailand base is still quite shiny.
Rivets: The rivets are in excellent condition.
Wheel/Tire Spin: All four wheels/tires spin feely, but do have a wobble.
Roll Test: This '70 Mercury Cyclone rolls with a shimmy and gradually deviates to the right.
