Hardback. 31cm x 25cm x 5.5cm thick. Covers detached from book but spine still attached to front and back covers so repairable. Front cover scuffs from use but otherwise good. Spine (leather) added but fair condition. Rear cover, solid but with large worn patch to centre including 5 holes through cloth but not boards.

Quite a few edges of pages show signs of age but not finger dirt etc.

Includes colour plates Persimmon, group of Ponies, Clydesdale Stallion,  ages of the horse from teeth (x2 plates), the roadster, horses foot neurotomy, the hunter Glengarry, Sir Visto winner of the Derby 1895, Guernsey cow, Ayrshire Heifer, Shorthorn bull Ironclad, Hereford bull Maidstone, sheeps head with smallpox, ages of pig by teeth and calculous concretions common to ox sheep and pig.

There are numerous other full and part pages of drawings and lithographs including animal breeds and anatomical plates including a full plate of the Arab TURKMAM from Syria. Also types of horse shoe and farriery instruments.

Not the best condition but complete and a fascinating book about the latest thinking when the vet and farrier were interchangeable with vets just becoming an independent profession.
