Waist is measured across waistband - please keep in mind that some pants and shorts have stretchy material!

Inseam is measured from seam at crotch to bottom hem. Please note that this measurement is approximate! It is surprisingly difficult to get an exact hem measurement (I don't think I've ever had a measurement that matched what the manufacturer had it listed as... even on new clothes)

If the "rise" measurement is pictured, it is taken from the top of the waistband to the crotch.
