Art Pepper (b. September 1, 1925 - d. June 15, 1982) was a renowned alto saxophonist on the West Coast of the United States. This album is a recording of his third visit to Japan in July 1979 at the Tokyo Postal Savings Hall, and was originally released as two live recordings in 1979 and 1981 under the titles "Landscape" (6 songs) and "Besame Mucho" (5 songs), respectively, with Discs 1 & 2 containing the 16th and Discs 3 & 4 containing the 23rd, Discs 3 & 4 are the complete recordings of the first and second sets from the 23rd and the 16th, respectively, for a total of 22 tracks, released as a 4-CD set in 2007 (Japan-produced version).
