I have here for sale a 5-volume set entitled TRAVELS INTO POLAND, RUSSIA, SWEDEN, AND DENMARK interspersed with historial relations and political inquiries.  By William Coxe.  The first four books are the Third Edition published by T Cadell, London in 1787. Volume V is the First Edition published in 1791. I have Vols I-IV plus Vol V which is a supplement containing Jutland, Norway, Livonia, Courland and Prussia.  
Vol I has 3 maps/plans and 5 plates, 
Vol II has 1 map and 4 plates (the one Specimen of Russian Print is missing); 
Vol III has 2 maps and 2 plates, as well as 2 other small in-text illustrations of coins; 
Vol IV has 6 maps and 4 plates; and 
Vol V has 2 maps and 1 plate.  So in total there are 14 maps and 16 plates.  

Coxe, an English historian and priest, travelled throughout Europe as a tutor and travelling companion to various noblemen and gentlemen, including Lord Herbert, son of the Earl of Pembroke; and Samuel Whitbread of the brewing family. He wrote prodigious and detailed accounts of his travels with Lord Herbert around the Swiss and French Alps, which were subsequently published.

Bound in full tan calf hardboards with gilt bands and maroon leather title blocks with gilt lettering.  Some small chips to the spines, the title block is missing from Vol I.  All boards firm.  Pages pretty clean, a few darkened edges to some of the fold-outs.  Condition: very good.  Vol I - 430 pages, Vol II - 471 pages, Vol III - 470 pages, Vol IV - 471 + index; Vol V - 486 + index.  21 x 13 cm.

Postage will be by Air Mail outside of UK.  If you buy more than one item then the postage cost falls for the second and further items as I will put them into one parcel - so you save money. We wrap and post the parcels on Monday and Tuesday - therefore if you pay before midday on Tuesday we will get it in the postal sacks on Tuesday night, and if it is after that time then it will go into the postal service on the following Monday.
