I have here for sale a book entitled THE SOURCE OF THE BLUE NILE A Record of a Journey through the Soudan to Lake Tsana in Western Abyssinia, and of the Return to Egypt by the Valley of the Atbara with A Note on the Religion, Customs, etc., of Abyssinia by ARTHUR J HAYES and An Entomological Appendix by E B Poulton With Illustrations and Maps published by Smith, Elder & Co., London, in 1905.  First edition.  Here we have an account of a journey through the Soudan to Lake Tsana in Western Abyssinia with 2 colour fold-out maps at the back of the book showing The Anglo-Egyptian Sudan; and Lake Tsana; and 32 b/w plates showing 47 illustrations. 

Blue cloth boards with a gilt illustration of an Abyssinian coin and gilt lettering on the front board.  Gilt lettering on the spine with slight bumping to top and bottom.  Name of previous owner on the front endpaper.  All pages are tight and clean and the book is in very good condition.  xi, 315 pages.  22 x 14.5 cm.
