MINERAL DESCRIPTION

Fuchsite is the greenish variety of muscovite mica, high in chromium. Plate-like and layered form of mica and is also known as Green Muscovite. It can have a wonderfully dark emerald green color that has a beautiful sparkly shine. It is often found in compact masses with small crystals.

The green color is the result of chromium impurities. Fuchsite was named after the German mineralogist Johann Fuch who lived from 1774 to 1856.Fuchsite is used in the manufacture of fireproofing and insulating materials and to some extent as a lubricant.

HEALING PROPERTIES

Fuchsite is a variety of Muscovite, which is a form of Mica. Ruby crystals are sometimes found within the Fuchsite. When this occurs, it is known as Ruby Fuchsite. In this case, the healing properties will be a combination of both Ruby and Fuchsite gemstones.
