Heywood-Wakefield was a manufacturer of
high-quality birch furniture in the Modern style beginning in 1930 and
continuing through to the 1960s. The company originally specialized in rattan
and wicker furniture, but the advent of modern design and the style`s
increasing popularity led Heywood-Wakefield to begin mass-producing beautiful
pieces of streamlined blond wood furniture based on French Art Deco. These
pieces have become highly collectible.
