It has matching publication and copyright dates of 1980, and, with no later printing or edition stated, it is presumed to be the First Edition. It contains the following articles on "underwater archaeological research at the Venice site": "The Archaeology of Drowned Terrestrial Sites: A Preliminary Report" by Reynold J. Ruppe. "Oyster Carrying Capacity at Venice, Florida, 2000 Years Ago" by Kent Lightfoot and Reynold J. Ruppe. "Analysis of the Mollusks at the Venice Beach Site" by Tricia A. Ruppe. "The Venice Site: Prehistoric Subsistence Patterns on a Regional Level" by Laurie B. Blank. "Faunal Analysis of the Venice Site" by Linda Fraser. The other two articles are: "Coe's Landing (8Ja137), Jackson County, Florida - A Fort Walton Campsite on the Apalachicola River" by David S. Brose. "Fort Alabama: A Temporary Wood Fort on the Hillsborough River" by Michael G. Schene. The book is in solid and readable condition, with just typical light surface rubbing and edge wear on the cover.
