RAILROADS THE BRIDGE AT QUEBEC BY WILLIAM D. MIDDLETON 2001 LARGE HC DJ MANY PHOTOS.  I acquired this book along with many other books from a prominent railfan but was initially puzzled about why a book about a bridge was in his collection.  On seeing the author—William D. Middleton- a prominent railroad and transportation historian cum author I realized that the bridge served railroad traffic.  The bridge across the wide and deep St. Lawrence River proved a major engineering challenge and suffered major failures during construction.  Tenacity and perseverance and engineering skills ultimately prevailed.  I am pleased to offer for your consideration a very nice copy of: “The Bridge at Quebec” by William D. Middleton.  It is an interesting and compelling story enhanced by many vintage photos of the undertaking.  This large hard cover book (8 ¾ x 11 ¼ inches 204 pages) was published by the Indiana University Press dated 2001 and the First Printing of the First Edition.  The book is bound in dark blue cloth with gilt titles on the spine and protected by a pictorial dust jacket.  Please see the photo of the Table of Contents for your further information.

Condition:  This book is in near fine condition.  The dust jacket is pristine without mark or blemish and so too the hard covers.  Inside the book is unmarked and the pages and plates are clean and bright throughout.  Both hinges are intact, and the binding is tight and sound.  This book is not ex-library or a remainder.

Shipping:  This book will be very carefully packed, with bubble wrap and with solid cardboard for their protection and promptly mailed upon payment.  Please note that I do not charge for packing and handling; all you pay is the postage.  Media mail postage for this large-sized hard cover book will be only $5.00.  Within the US for domestic mailings, combined shipping for multiple purchases is gladly offered.  You will pay full price for the shipping of the first book and half price for any others purchased that same week.  For example, two books with shipping at $4 each will ship for $6 combined.

The eBay site has become so popular that it is difficult to find your way back to a seller with an interesting array of listings.  Please consider “book-marking” my site so you can see a constantly changing inventory of other truly vintage books and/or collectible works.

Please also be aware that all my current listings are “spring-summer season” listings held here in New York.  Once it starts getting cold here in Upstate New York, I will head back to Florida and switch out these listings for another catalogue of different books held there.

Please don’t hesitate to send any questions; I will monitor closely and respond promptly.  Thanks, and enjoy.
