This Custom Harp Microphone is built from a Vintage Darome 431 Desktop Paging Microphone. The body has been carefully removed from the desk stand and has been powder coated in Green Hammertone. The wire mesh grille has been powder coated in Silver Metallic Explosion.

The original element was in bad condition and has been replaced with a new Cardioid Dynamic element with a transformer to boost it to 50 K-Ohms Impedance for a strong output. The element provides a tone which is similar to the Shure 545 microphone with a nice breakup and warm tone with excellent frequency response for harmonica.

A volume control with 1" green aluminum knob has been added at the back of the microphone and a Switchcraft connector and 1/4" adapter have been installed at the bottom of the mic body near the back to provide easy cupping.

The mic measures about 1 7/8" in diameter at the widest part of the body and it is about 3 1/4" from the front of the grille to the back of the knob. This makes it an extremely easy to hold and cup even if you have small hands.
