VINCENT VAN GOGH BY HIMSELF PAINTINGS DRAWINGS LETTERS 1985 1^ST U.S. HC DJ.  On offer here: “Vincent by Himself- A Selection of Van Gogh’s Paintings and Drawings Together With Extracts from His Letters,” edited by Bruce Bernard.  This large hard cover book (10 ¼ x 12 ¾ inches, 327 pages) was published by Little Brown and Company as a New York Graphic Society book dated 1985 and the First U.S. Edition.  The book is bound in dark blue boards with gilt titles on the spine and protected by a glossy, pictorial dust jacket.  From the flap of the dust jacket: The book “gives the artist’s writings and drawings in four chronological sections, each of which also presents a portfolio of the paintings Van Gogh was making at the time.  The drawings are masterful, and especially revelatory when they accompany the letters they often illustrated.  Altogether, 231 of Van Gogh’s works are reproduced, every one of them in full color.”  Please see the photo of the Table of Contents for your further information.

Condition:  This book is in near fine condition.  The dust jacket has some abrasions along the rear fold and there is some creasing to the film finish at the rear as well.  The hard covers are clean and bright with some dust-dulling along the top edge that blends into the full board.  Inside the book is unmarked and the pages and plates are clean and bright without toning or foxing.  Both hinges are intact, and the binding is tight and sound.  This book is not ex-library or a remainder.

Shipping:  This huge hard cover book will be very carefully packed, with bubble wrap and with solid cardboard for their protection and promptly mailed upon payment.  Please note that I do not charge for packing and handling; all you pay is the postage.  Economy mail postage for this very large hard cover book will be only $9.00.  International and Canadian buyers should be aware that these books will easily exceed the four-pound weight limit for International First-Class Mail.  Accordingly, they will only be shipped internationally or to Canada using eBay’s Global Shipping Program.  Within the US for domestic mailings, combined shipping for multiple purchases is gladly offered.
