What Happened to Tommy by Frances Brundage is a 14" (height) color illustrated Vintage Softcover Book. It is outsized at 14" x 8". I am not sure what year this book was published but other listings indicate 1924 or the 1920s, so rather than Vintage, this book could be an Antique.

This antique/vintage book is close t 100 years old and the wear on the front and back covers is consistent with its age. It is in good condition. It has writing in faint pencil along the edge on the front and on the back in pencil telling us who the book belonged to and where they lived - Margaret Virginia Huss who lived in Frederick, MD.

Frances Isabelle Lockwood Brundage (1854–1937) was an American illustrator best known for her depictions of attractive and endearing children on postcardsvalentinescalendars, and other ephemera published by Raphael Tuck & Sons, Samuel Gabriel Company, and Saalfield Publishing. She received an education in art at an early age from her father, Rembrandt Lockwood. Her professional career in illustration began at seventeen when her father abandoned his family and she was forced to seek a livelihood.

In addition to ephemera, Brundage illustrated children's classics such as the novels of Louisa May AlcottJohanna Spyri, and Robert Louis Stevenson, and traditional literary collections such as The Arabian Nights and the stories of King Arthur and Robin Hood. She was a prolific artist, and, in her late 60s, was producing as many as twenty books annually. Her work is highly collectible.
