*Recommended Aquarium Size:
These heaters are calibrated at a controlled room temperature of 20° C. Variables such as lower room temperature (for example if your tank is in a cold garage), wide temperature fluctuations, lack of aquarium cover, presence of submersible pump or filter, proximity to heat or cooling source may require a different wattage heater for proper control. If your tank size is on the maximum recommendation for a heater, you may be better going for the next size up especially in colder months when ambient room temperature is cooler.
