This guitar sounds amazing and is perfect for the singer/songwriter who does not need pickups (although you could certainly add an aftermarket pickup system). The action and playability is excellent. The Gibson J-45 is the gold standard guitar for the singer/songwriter. I bought it new a little over a year ago, but it has been played very little. Mostly kept in its beautiful hard shell case (included). Sold as is, but you can check my 100% positive feed back rating. Buyer pays shipping and insurance. Happy buying.

Description

The Gibson '60s J-45 Original acoustic guitar offers musicians a chance to experience the renowned sound and feel of Gibson's most popular acoustic shape. The all-mahogany construction of this round-shoulder dreadnought provides a warm, balanced tone with pronounced lows and clear highs. The '60s J-45 Original features period-correct specifications like a 1-11/16" nut width, hot-stamped pickguard and vintage sunburst finish that evoke the iconic guitars of the 1960s folk era.

Sitka Spruce Top and Scalloped X-Bracing

The '60s J-45 Original's premium Sitka spruce soundboard is carefully hand-selected and paired with Gibson's signature scalloped X-bracing construction. This combination produces a broad dynamic range with crisp articulation and a robust low end. The scalloped bracing thins and tapers the ends of the X-braces for enhanced vibration of the soundboard, resulting in a lively and open tone with rich overtones.

All-Mahogany Back and Sides

The all-mahogany back and sides of the '60s J-45 Original provide a warm, balanced tone and pronounced midrange. Mahogany's dense grain lends depth and clarity to each note. The mahogany neck also contributes to a full, rounded tone and smooth playability up and down the fretboard.

Vintage-Inspired Specs

From its vintage finish and mother-of-pearl dot inlays to its adjustable rosewood bridge saddle and Grover tuners, the '60s J-45 Original is designed to evoke the iconic Gibson acoustics of the 1960s. A 1-11/16" nut width and radiused rosewood fretboard provide a comfortable playing feel for both rhythm and lead playing.
