Erskine pitched for the Brooklyn and Los Angeles Dodgers from 1948-1959. In '53 he went 20-6. Overall in 335 games as a Dodger he won 122 and lost 78 with an ERA of 4.00. He picked up 13 saves before they were known as "saves." He had a busy life in retirement while living in his city of birth, Anderson, Indiana. He coached baseball at Anderson College and worked in the banking field. CARL ERSKINE DIED at the age of 97 on April 16, 2024.
