This style of battery holder allows 
eight AA batteries in this configuration. 
That is equal to 12 Volts DC!
The description suggest to use alkaline 
batteries, but in truth, any AA battery
will work just as well.
The compact design means this can be 
used as a portable power supply,
among other things.
