Vitex negundo is a shrub/tree in the Lamiaceae family. A native to Eastern and Southern Africa and Asia. Some common names are Chinese chaste tree, five-leaved chaste tree, horseshoe vitex. It is used in folk medicine, mostly in South and Southeast Asia. It is also used for treating stored garlic to keep pests away and as cough syrup in the Philippines. The Food and Drug Administration of the Philippines has approved clinical trials for a supplemental treatment for COVID patients. It can grow to 25 feet tall with a red/brown bark. It has small flowers ranging in color from white to blue. Grows in any soil well-drained. It likes full sun to part shade. Zones 6-11

Germination
