Einband leicht berieben und vergilbt, insgesamt leicht vergilbt, sonst guter Zustand / Binding slightly rubbed and yellowed, overall slightly yellowed, otherwise good condition. - At his time, Captain Basil Hall was a well-known author of books of travel. His works are extremely rich in geographical and historical details. Hall aimed at reporting whatever he saw in an impartial way. Especially valuable are the chapters on the ’’Missisagua Indians”, the ’’Distress of the Creek Indians”, the ’’Grand Indian Ball Play”, the ’’Different Opinions with regard to Slavery” and ’’Future Prospects of the Slave Question”.- To the reprint of the original edition the editors have added twelve contemporaneous illustrations which Basil Hall had made by means of the ’’Camera Lucida”. A new preface by Dr. F. Anders, containing an extensive bibliography, will contribute to draw the attention of everybody interested in the history of North America upon this noteworthy book.
