Jacaranda mimosifolia is a deciduous to a semi-evergreen tree in the Bignoniaceae family. Common names include Black Poui and Blue Jacaranda. Its native locations come from Brazil, Argentina, and Bolivia. A full-grown Jacaranda can reach up to 40 feet tall and 30 feet wide. It grows in most soils as long as it doesn't dry out. Flowers are a very Showy purple and have a wonderful spring or summer fragrance. The flowers are perfect, meaning they have both male and female parts in each flower. Zones 10-11.

Germination

Soak seeds in water for 24 hours. Place seeds on a soil bed, cover them with a thin layer of soil, and keep the soil moist. The seeds sprout in about two weeks. Transplant seedlings after eight months of growth.
