Great antique condition

The owner was told this was originally from a coal mining business in West Virginia

Everything seems to move as it should, the clock winds easily on the underside and is working well

The inked roll that prints the stamp will need to be replaced in order to create a stamp, however we were able to get a faint stamp from the one that is still installed

The clock face may have originally had glass, but does not need it to work well and look great, as shown. :)

According to the ansi.org website, "Cornelius Wilson invented the time stamp, and his company, the Automatic Time Stamp Company of Boston, Massachusetts, produced it in 1880. Wilson’s time stamp recorded the time, day, month, year, type of transaction, company name, and some user-specific identifying characters. This machine was initially used in commercial or industrial settings like stores or factories."

Measurements:

11 3/4" tall, 7" long front to back (clock to arm), 6 1/4" wide at the base

Weighs approximately 11 1/2 pounds

Maker's markings:

Simplex Time Recorder Co., Gardner, Mass., USA

A.T.S. Co., Boston, Automatic
