This is a great top and it is made of a thick heavier cotton. It's a cross between a shirt and sweatshirt.  It does have a loose, boxier shape. I love the construction and details, such as the stripes all lining up and the cute nautical anchor shoulder buttons and the striped material under the buttons is the perfect accent. It's 100% cotton - It's machine washable.
