SUPERMAN POSTER

2-SIDED SMITHSONIAN MUSEUM POSTER

JOSE LUIS GARCIA-LOPEZ ART

Here is a rare SUPERMAN poster from 1987: an original vintage 2 SIDED, FACTORY FOLDED SUPERMAN "MANY LIVES, MANY WORLDS" PROMOTIONAL POSTER, which was originally given to attendees of the Superman 50th Birthday exhibit in the National Museum of American History, Smithsonian Institution, in Washington D.C between 1987 and 1988. It was NOT FOR SALE TO THE GENERAL PUBLIC and not available anywhere else. This poster was created for the subsequent traveling exhibit of the show.

CONDITION AND SIZE: This factory folded, double-sided promo poster is in UNDISPLAYED NEAR MINT condition and measures about 17 inches by 11 inches. This Superman promo poster is FOLDED in 3 locations, which is how it was originally distributed to exhibit visitors. This is normal for promotional posters and is not considered a defect by collectors. The large image of Superman on this promotional poster features artwork by long-time DC Comics artist Jose Luis Garcia-Lopez.

SIDE 1 shows several Golden Age and Silver Age Action Comics and Superman comic book covers from the 1930's, 1940's, 1950's, 1960's, 1970's, and the 80s, featuring artwork by artists such as Neal Adams, John Byrne, and I believe Wayne Boring or Curt Swan, but I'm not 100 percent sure.

SIDE 2 of this poster describes some of Superman's history, from his debut in the 1938 Action Comics #1, such as the movie serials, the George Reeves TV show, the Christopher Reeve movies, the Broadway musical, the radio program, and more. Side two of this poster also shows images of various Superman artifacts, like a Superman Army tank tin toy, the Superman National Defense club, etc.

Your poster will be securely packaged and sent with tracking. I try to send out all shipments within a day or two of purchase.
