OTHER INFO: Dick Francis began his career as a professional jockey, becoming Champion National Hunt Jockey in 1953-54, and famously rode in Queen Elizabeth the Queen Mother’s colours in the Grand National of 1956. After retiring from the Turf, he became a successful writer of 42 thrillers, topping the best-seller lists for more than 40 years. He had worldwide sales of more than sixty million books. He was the winner of the prestigious Crime Writers’ Association’s Cartier Diamond Dagger. He died in 2010.  

Heron Books produced sets of books, both fiction and non-fiction from the 1960s through to the 1980s. Each set was bound in faux leather. The Dick Francis set consists of 20 volumes.

VERY GOOD (VG) A book or magazine that has been used or read, but is still very presentable.There will be some signs of shelf wear such as light rubbing, small marks or creases. There may also be some paper discolouration on older paperbacks or magazines and to dust wrappers. Anything significant will be mentioned separately. 

GOOD (G) A book or magazine that is complete, but will it is likely to be well read. It will have obvious wear which may include minor damage or cracking to the spine, along with rips to a cover or dust wrapper, larger marks, staining or larger creases.
