The belt itself is constructed of 720 Denier Cordura nylon fabric. It was specifically designed to have a wide surface area so it would be able to easily displace the maximum weight load capacity of the pack (120 lbs.) around the Marine's body with less pressure points

These are modular packs, meaning everyone is issued the same main pack but shoulder straps and hip belt were issued based on the individual waist and shoulder size.
