For sale is a VERY RARE WWI military collection from a named WWI veteran. The collection is museum quality, and is likely the most complete and extensive you will ever find.
Marvin R. Davidson served in WW1 as a Master Gunner with the 158th Field Artillery Battalion. He made several stops during his training. He was a shore gunner in Hawaii in 1918 with the 13th Company Oahu, and he served in the 36th Regiment Camp Stewart, VA, as shown in the framed photo with all of his named soldiers. It's super RARE to have a WWI photo with most of the soldiers named!! He's the farthest one to the left. He then was assigned to the Coast Artillery School in Fort Monroe, VA. There are four WWI dated official documents pictured showing his travels and promotions in the military.
Included in this AMAZING WWI lot is Marvin's original footlocker (31" wide x 16 3/4" deep x 13" high and there is no key), Tunic (approximately a size 38R) with his WWI Victory medal- 2 Marksman pins- 158th & US collar discs, U.S. M1917 Helmet, pants, protective leggings, 11 stripes and patches, and 14 other medals and pins with 9 original boxes (7 green boxes are all marked V.H. Blackinton & Co. The King George Medal is inscribed on the side #208426 PTE G.A. BELL CAN PNR BN.
Also included are well over 200 photos, with at least 100 of them showing military life from his time stationed in Hawaii to a shore Battery. Several photos have duplicates included. You will also receive many personal effects from his time living in Iowa, tons of family photos with 3 of them being made of ceramic, and even his Marriage License from 1948.
He must have had relatives in the Civil War. Two of the medals are of daughters and sons of the Union from the Civil War!!
Shown in one of the last photos is a photo of him with his weapon, his actual footlocker that you will receive, and a ship showing it's torpedo tube.
Additionally you will receive his Voiture Iowa hat, a General Pershing message to the soldiers, a 1919 dated concert and dance ticket, his military handkerchief, and even extra uniform material along with his comb I found in one of his pockets.
Marvin can be seen in the included photos wearing this very uniform in local parades up into the 1970s!!! That's probably why this uniform is in such AMAZING condition.
There are so many things not pictured as the limit is 24 photos.
ALL items will be shipped in the Footlocker. Due to the weight and size of the foot locker, shipping is expensive. If shipping ends up being less, I will refund the difference to the winning bidder.

Condition:

The uniform, patches and photos are in excellent condition. The medals are mostly excellent with a few having the ribbon coming apart. The helmet is 100% complete and intact and is nice with expected age and wear. It may have a little touchup done on top of helmet. His other personal items are overall excellent with expected wear.
