Coastal Command Pilot - A Pilot's Experiences with 220 and 269 Squadron's of RAF Coastal Command during the Second World War, by Ted Rayner

Published by Woodfield in 2001, 264 pages. Paperback (N4650CHX2)

This informative and enjoyable memoir by former Coastal Command pilot Ted Rayner gives a compelling account of his flying activities during World War Two, which involved numerous patrols over the North Sea and Arctic Ocean, flying from bases in Norway, Iceland and Greenland.

His account of RAF activities in this lesser-known theatre of war is a fitting tribute to the many Coastal Command crews who perished in the icy Arctic waters while performing the dangerous but invaluable role of protecting Allied shipping against enemy attacks.

The condition of the book is generally very good. The covers are clean and bright, the spine is tight and intact, and all pages are clean, intact, unblemished and tightly bound.

When we post our books, we take great care in packaging them - first your book will be wrapped in bubblewrap, which protects the book and even keeps out any rain (in the event that it's raining when the postie delivers it!). Then we wrap your book in stiff cardboard, taking care to make sure all the corners are protected, and finally the package is wrapped in thick brown paper.
