Native to Korea, Japan, & North-Eastern China, the Irregularly Shaped Grey Bark gradually transforms into black bark as it grows older, adding to it's unmistakable details. Along all of the branches, the Richly colored Green leaves grow in Needle-Like shapes. Every Spring, the Black Pine produces red, egg shaped flowers. (Which seeds can be taken from by any grower.) Also an Extremely Hardy growing tree & can reach heights of up to 100' grown naturally. Low Maintenance and Great Tolerance to Extreme Conditions are the Very Reason it's the Perfect Species for Bonsai.

Black Pine Germination:
Place the seed in a jar or other container, cover with water and let it stand for 24 hours.
 After they have been soaked, place Japanese black pine seeds in a plastic bag with moist sphagnum moss or perlite and place in the refrigerator for 60 days.
Following scarification and stratification, plant seeds 1/8 inch deep in loose potting soil. Place one seed per pot. Tamp the soil lightly around the seeds. Place the pots in a cold frame or other protected outdoor spot. Cover the pots with a layer of mulch and keep the soil moist but not waterlogged. Germination will generally take one or two months, but it can be longer.

Coloca las semillas en un frasco u otro recipiente, cúbrelas con agua y déjalas reposar durante 24 horas.
Después de remojarlas, coloca las semillas de pino negro japonés en una bolsa de plástico con musgo sphagnum húmedo o perlita y colócalas en el refrigerador durante 60 días.
Después de la escarificación y la estratificación, planta las semillas a 1/8 de pulgada de profundidad en tierra para macetas suelta. Coloca una semilla por maceta.
