The Lady Of The Lake Author’s Edition 1874 Sir Walter Scott Published by Adam & Charles Black of Edinburgh. End paper is signed by original owner George Wigglesworth who was rather famous himself - see below. Book is in about good condition - the cloth binding area has a small old piece of green tape at the top, pages have light age toning stains, it is complete - see photos. Has a classic Art Nouveau style. Small size measures 3 3/4" x 5 5/8". 

George Wigglesworth (1853-1930) got his L.L.B. from Harvard in 1878 and his L.L.D. in 1928. He practiced law in Boston, became president of the York Manufacturing Company (textiles), and served on the boards of directors of various other companies. He was a trustee of Massachusetts General Hospital and other charities, overseer of Harvard, and treasurer at M.I.T., and he was involved with other educational institutions.
