Luminox SR-71 Blackbird 9000 Series 9070

A rare timepiece limited to 500 units worldwide

The only official pilot watch developed with full cooperation from the United States Air Force and Lockheed Martin as a monument to the US Air Force's strategic reconnaissance aircraft, the SR-71 Blackbird.

I have always been a big fan of Luminox, and when this model was released, I was immediately drawn to its incredible design and purchased it right away. I've been using and cherishing it ever since. Although many models have been released in the 9000 series since then, I still think the original 9070 is the coolest! I never intended to part with it, so I disposed of the box, but even now, it retains its timeless coolness and masculinity!

The belt size when fastened is approximately 17.5cm, which is on the smaller side, but it can be adjusted by pushing in the pins with a toothpick or similar tool, allowing for adjustment in 3mm increments up to 4 levels. When fully extended, it measures 24cm. Currently, it is set to the narrowest setting, approximately 17.5cm. It weighs 196g, quite heavy, but it feels secure and comfortable.

There are some minor scratches and scuffs due to regular use, but I have always handled it with care, so it has never been dropped, and there are no major damages. Both the crystal glass and transparent case back are completely scratch-free as they are made of sapphire crystal glass.

All functions such as the chronograph, date, and calendar are working properly.

There is hardly any deviation in timekeeping.

The power reserve lasts easily for a full 2 days.

Instructions on operation will be provided to the buyer.

However, as it is an item that has aged over the years, the luminescence of the tritium can hardly be seen.

We recommend overhauling it to refresh the hands and movement before use.
