For Whom the Bell Tolls, 1940.  Lacks  the “A” on copyright page to be true first edition, but also is without Scribner imprint on that page, making it among the first printings.  Dust jacket shows original price of $2.75 and back of dust jacket indicates photographer’s name, making this copy likely a second  state.  Dust jacket is a bit tattered, but book is intact and in solid condition, no tears, separations, etc.  Pages show some aging as one would expect from a 1940 copy.
