This is an old authentic Aqcha runner, handmade in Afghanistan.

This is a runner that can be placed in hallways and stairways, as well as narrow spaces in living rooms, bedrooms, foyers, dining rooms, study rooms and kitchens.

These types of rugs are one of the most traditional rugs made in Afghanistan. They have the very well-known and oft repeated "elephant foot" design which is a signature motif of these carpets. These rugs primarily come in a red and black colour, although newer colour themes of green and blue are available.

These carpets are the staple rug of Afghan families and have passed the test of time in their timeless quality and appeal. Their charm is in their simplicity, and they also have matching rugs of the same design and colour. This runner has a worn pile, although it still has a smooth and soft texture. There is also some colour fading in some areas, which gives it a vintage appearance.

NON-STRAIGHT EDGESSome rugs may not have completely straight edges due the handmade-nature of the rugs and rigorous production process of washing, dyeing and trimming. Usually these are not noticeable from eye-height. They can also be straightened out by professional rug stretchers for a fee.

CREASES: Some rugs may have minor creases due to being folded and stored at our warehouse and also while being folded during postage to you. These are usually flattened out once they are laid out and in the course of normal foot traffic and vacuuming. You can also flatten creases by applying some warm water to the crease and applying gentle heat indirectly over another cloth, such as using an iron on low heat. Do not apply directly to the carpet.

COLOUR: The colours and shades may vary slightly due to the specific angle and lighting when photos are taken. This means that the carpet you receive may look slightly different from the picture. Additionally, carpets naturally have a "light" side and a "dark" side, which is determined by the orientation of the wool pile. This is a characteristic of carpets and should be taken into consideration when choosing a carpet for your space.
