David Coverdale achieved worldwide success with Whitesnake in the late 80s, but disbanded the band in the early 90s. Jimmy Page, on the other hand, had not been active since his solo work in 1988. Meanwhile, the two, who were signed to Geffen Records at the time, decided to team up at the suggestion of A&R John Kalodner, who had revived Aerosmith. The album got off to a good start, reaching number 4 in the UK and number 5 in the US, and in Japan it sold over 150,000 copies and was the only one in the world to hold a tour, which attracted a lot of attention. However, the following year Jimmy Page turned to a project with Robert Plant, and the album came to an end after only one year.

At the time, vinyl records were produced in small quantities overseas, and the approximately 61-minute album was stored on one LP, but this is the first Japanese vinyl release to be released on a 2LP with 4 sides and a transparent blue disc, taking into consideration the sound quality.
