This 306 page thick, weights 2 pounds volume pictorial was published by Mainichi Shinbun Newspaper in 1979. Larger U.S. Letter size format: 8.5" X 11" (The photos below are partially cropped resulting from the scanner's limitation.) Depicts History of Japanese Army & Navy aviation as well as civilians by rare B&W and color photos from early 20th century. Many books about WW2 Japanese aircraft are published, but the reference about the dawn of Japanese aviation is rare even in Japan. The photographs in this book are from totally different source. Many photographs have never been printed in other publications. (Ex. Have you seen a photo of a crashed Beech Staggerwing in prewar Japan? ) This is the must for Japanese aircraft buffs.
