You are buying The Pastoral Loves of Daphnis and Chloe by Longus, done into English, with an introduction by George Moore, and illustrated with etchings by Ruth Reeves. The Limited Editions Club, New York published the book special copyright 1934. It is a limited edition of 1500 copies. It is copy #1362 and signed by the artist Ruth Reeves. It is the 4th title in the 5th series. The interior is in fine condition. The pages are tight and clean. There are no tears or marks. There are no signs of prior ownership. The cover is in very good condition. There is browning of the spine, and a scratch across the medallion on the front board. The slipcase is in very good condition. It shows light wear, and uneven browning. The book is 8 1/4” x 11 1/2” tall and 130 pages plus a 1 page colophon. There are several full page illustrations, chapter headpieces, and smaller tailpieces by Ruth Reeves.
