From DJ: The author’s younger brother, Ronald, and his world of Pennsylvania woods and streams, of frequent fishing and occasional hunting, and his abiding affection for nature are vividly described in passages that take the reader to the open land…. A moving tribute to a deceased brother …

About author: Jerry Hyde was born in the small town of Galton, in Pennsylvania. The family made their way to Wellsboro, where Jerry and his brother, Ronald, grew up. Jerry got Ron his first job in Corning, New York, with Corning Glass, from which they transferred to separate locations; Ron went to the Wellsboro plant in their home-town, and Jerry found himself on the move, from one plant to the next, through World War II, as a chief inspector whose duties included training managers, running operations of engineering, finally freelancing to help with General overhead needs of Corning.
