PLEASE NOTE: I’m not a professional grader but have over 40 years of collecting, trading & selling comic books & other collectibles. Please read description in 3rd paragraph. Please view all photos & ask any questions you may have. Grading is not a science. The impact or the importance of flaws to a book can vary from person to person. I may feel a faint water stain on the back cover is minor where someone else feels it’s more of a major defect. What I may think is a 6.0 or 6.5 someone else may think it’s a 5.0 or 5.5. I try to note what I feel are the most notable of defects and give honest grade ranges. I’m not trying to hide anything, I just may think something is not as major as someone else. Please do not purchase if you disagree or like to debate grade ranges. Purchase professionally graded comics then. I see the poorly graded comics listed out there. Also it is not my concern how the book can possibly be improved or not improved by a pressing, cleaning or any other restoration. Thank you and sorry for the rant.

Offered up from my personal collection is a “RARE” HOUSE OF SECRETS #81. Published by DC Comics in 1969. Stories by Mike Friedrich & Gerry Conway, art by Jerry Grandenetti & Jack Sparling with cover by “industry legend” Neal Adams. Mystery format begins. 1st appearance of Abel in title. Origin of the House of Secrets. Vintage “KEY” HOUSE OF SECRETS issue and a “MUST HAVE” for any DC Comics and HOUSE OF SECRETS completist/collector.

In my estimation the book ranges in “NICE” (3.5) VERY GOOD- to (4.0) VERY GOOD condition with medium to dark cream pages. Some significant moderate wear to cover, spine, corners & edges. Wrinkle/indent at upper/middle right edge which impacts entire book slightly, crease at bottom right corner, blunted/abraded bottom right corner, centerfold is detached at bottom staple and book has age discoloration/staining/soiling. A tight, sharp, bright & glossy looking copy. There are no other glaring flaws to note, that is not typical to books falling under the indicated grade ranges or visible in pictures. I am not a professional grader but grade very conservatively using The Overstreet Price Guide as reference and my 40+ years of comic book collecting/selling experience. Pictures are of the actual book you will receive. No stock photos. All books come bagged & boarded.
