2.8" Charoite gemstone polished point from Russia. This display piece has been cut flat on the bottom, allowing the piece to stand on its own nicely. All of the faces of the piece are polished to a smooth finish. This piece is carved from a beautiful solid cluster of Charoite, a rare mineral with glorious purple color and unique patterns of swirls, feathers and needles through the stone. The Charoite deposit located in the Murun Mountains in Yakutia, Russia is the only location in the world where this material is found. First discovered by Russian geologist in the 1950's, the name Charoite was confirmed by the Commission on New Mineral Species in 1978. Charoite is said to be the stone of the spirit. A great piece for display, collection, and study.
