The pumpkin is knitted with the front surface. But among the regular rows, you will come across rows with unknitted loops.
This knitting resembles the popular Scandinavian jacquards. It is also called lazy jacquard.
You will come across moments when knitting needs to be moved to the beginning of the knitted row - to where the working thread of a different color is. This is indicated in the pattern, so just follow the instructions. This is what circular knitting needles on a fishing line or cable are for.
This knitting pattern does not contain any crocheted elements, so it is suitable for beginner knitters.
You can knit a variety of pumpkins using this pattern. Make them in different
sizes, different colors, with interesting decor. Maybe you have beautiful
buttons or lace. Or maybe you will make ordinary pumpkins of different bright
