This is a vintage, original, 1st Printing book from 1923.  With this book, Jane Curtis Gifford and E. George Payne became the new authors of the "Long Ago" Series (started in 1916 by Margaret Morcomb).  The book attempts to describe the life, customs, and many hardships of a young Native American boy, who lived long ago.

[ No Dustjacket, cover-corners and cover-edges slightly bumped (see pics), front page has names of 2 former owners (see pic), Page 37 has a neatly repaired tear (see pic), 6 or 7 other pages have tiny tears or stains; otherwise, book is very clean, well-bound, solid, tight with strong hinges, fully complete, easily readable, strongly printed, and well-illustrated with about 30 color pictures ]
