DESCRIPTION
An anthology of the beloved children's tales by Wilhelm and Jacob Grimm, revised edition with colourful illustrations by Jiri Trnka, Czech puppet-maker and illustrator, known for his work in animation with puppets. He received the international Hans Christian Andersen Medal in 1968 for his contribution to children's literature.
Illustrated with a frontispiece and twenty-five full page colour plates, as well as numerous illustrations in text in black and white.
Tales included are some classic such as 'Cinderella,' 'Tom Thumb,' 'Snow-White and Rose-Red,' 'Hansel ad Gretel,' 'Rapunzel,' &c.
CONDITION
In the original publisher's full cloth binding. Externally very smart with minor shelf wear, spine and boards lightly bumped, light fading to back-strip. Internally, firmly bound. Pages bright and clean. With black and white illustrations in text and twenty-six full page colour plates.
