In the preface, the editor expresses the hope that this volume would be published simulatenously in French and English in 1828. Though the rare first edition copy is dated 1828, it was not actually published until the year after.

Used. A very poor copy, still retaining the faded and somewhat battered leather spine.

Text and illustrations are all heavily stained, bumped and untidy in appearance. See photos.

The image of a previous owner's name is still evident on a faded note attached to what was the original first inside page.

But apart from the missing front and back leather covers and the quite fragile binding with a handful of loose sheets, all pages are still present, if extremely faded and dirty in appearance, somewhat dulled and very worn looking.

Corners are not sharp.

A decent copy for such a rare book of English Literature, but in its current state, the price has been substantially reduced.

Some book restoration expertise however, could very quickly bring this unique volume, back to its former glory!
