This is an original book and dustjacket from 1979.  The artist, Paul Hogarth ( 1917 --  2001) was an English artist and illustrator. He is best known for the cover drawings that he prepared in the 1980s for the Penguin editions of Graham Greene's books. Sir Stephen Harold Spender CBE ( 1909 – 1995) was an English poet, novelist and essayist whose work concentrated on themes of social injustice and the class struggle. (from Wikipedia)

The book is a collaborative effort from Hogarth and Spender.  Hogarth based his artworks on his explorations of America from 1969 to 1978.  Spender described the America that he observed.

It combines art and prose of sightseeing to many of USA's most prominent tourist places.
